General Powell Endorses Barack Obama

Today, former Secretary of State Colin Powell endorsed Sen. Barack Obama for president (click here if video doesn't show):

Powell cites all the common reasons for not supporting McCain (negative attacks ads, choice of Palin for VP, erratic behavior over issues, narrow focus on unimportant issues), yet Powell says it much more diplomatically than anybody I've heard. I guess that's why he was Secretary of State.

Here is the link to the photograph of the mother at her son's grave.

To be fair, I have a feeling I would have dismissed his opinions as irrelevant if he endorsed McCain, but he did put up a great argument for Obama.

Yeah, I didn't know what to expect from Powell. I was impressed that he pretty much covered every legitimate concern about McCain-Palin, and even brought up the whole fear of muslims issue.

Looks like McCain's supporters are also starting to confront the intolerance.

I'm not surprised with Rush Limbaugh's reaction to Powell's endorsement of Obama. Rush never screams "racism!" when a white person supports a white candidate!
