"It was this object, this light-blue object, traveling at a phenomenal rate of speed," Rogers said. "This Air Force jet was right behind it, chasing it, but the object was just leaving him in the dust. I told my neighbor, 'I think those jets are chasing a UFO.' "

I used to think that peanut butter and potato chips was a crazy snack, but then I read Utterly Outrageous Recipes. Fish and Peanut Butter Sandwiches? Fried Potato Pizza? Bleh!

Here are the 2002 winners of The Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest. The contest was inspired by this famous opening sentence written by Edward George Bulwer-Lytton:
It was a dark and stormy night; the rain fell in torrents--except at occasional intervals, when it was checked by a violent gust of wind which swept up the streets (for it is in London that our scene lies), rattling along the housetops, and fiercely agitating the scanty flame of the lamps that struggled against the darkness.

I've ignored my blog for at least a week now. It was my birthday last week, and I was just so busy partying. ;) So here is a link I've been meaning to post: Blind Psychic Gropes Buttocks to See Future. I think the guy is just a pervert!

I'm way too into American Idol considering I'm probably not even in their target demographic. Anyway, on tomorrow night's show an AI contestant will be disqualified. I had suspicions about certain finalists from the last 2 weeks. However, the article makes it clear that it will be one of the 10 who was to compete tomorrow night for the final 3 spots.

Martha Stewart must be really busy lately. She's been in the news a lot. I don't know how she still finds time to stalk people with style.

There has been a lot of discussion about the Pledge of Allegiance today. I found a very interesting link about the history of the Pledge. It's important to note that the original version never included the phrase "under god." The author, Francis Bellamy, considered placing the word "equality" in the Pledge, but he knew that the state superintendents of education were against equality for women and African Americans. If we're going to be making any changes to the pledge to the flag now, I think it's time we added the word "equality."

While I'm on the topic of technologies with questionable benefits, how about a mannequin that can sweat? The creators say the invention will help clothes designers better understand heat and moisture transfer from the human body to the environment. Guess we won't be seeing these in department stores.
